This guide is for early technical scoping. It helps a project team identify relevant inputs; final selection, materials and performance conditions must be confirmed in the agreed technical proposal.
Describe the solids as carefully as the water
A conveyor enquiry should identify moisture content, bulk density, fibre length, particle size, temperature, adhesion, abrasiveness, corrosiveness and whether the material can bridge at the inlet. Dewatered cake, DAF float sludge and screenings may all be described as solids, but their conveying behaviour differs substantially. Reliable capacity follows the actual material and the planned operating profile rather than a theoretical volume value by itself.
Draw the transport route and account for inclination
Record horizontal and inclined length, elevation change, feed elevation, discharge elevation, bends, transitions, supports, enclosure requirements and available space. Inclination affects practical capacity and may affect backflow, retention or material build-up. Layout drawings are useful because they reveal whether an inlet hopper, transition chute or discharge point creates an avoidable obstruction. The route should be reviewed with the upstream and downstream equipment as one transfer system.
Plan for control, containment and access
The conveyor should have a defined interlock relationship with the feeding machine so material does not accumulate when downstream transfer is unavailable. Review cover access, cleaning points, safe isolation, drive protection, liner inspection and the expected response to overload. Contained transfer supports housekeeping, but it must still permit inspection and service. Final material-contact details and controls should be confirmed for the wastewater environment and actual solids duty.
Use the RFQ to turn questions into a project basis
When the key inputs are available, a structured RFQ can bring them together with project country, target result, operating hours and the equipment interest. That helps move the next conversation from general browsing to a defined technical scope. If a data point is not yet available, identify it as an open clarification rather than assuming a generic value.
