Separate physical preparation capacity from chemical dose
A preparation system can be described by its batch or hourly solution-making capacity, but that does not determine the process dose. The final polymer consumption depends on the actual wastewater or sludge, target treatment response, chemical trial results and operating conditions. Request the expected polymer form, solution concentration, operating hours and the number of dose points. This allows the project team to consider practical solution inventory and reduce the risk of under-sizing the maturation or storage stages.
Review water supply, handling and operator workflow
Powder or emulsion polymer handling requires a clear workflow. Consider bulk storage, dry conditions, wetting, mixing, dilution-water quality and pressure, spill control, line flushing and access for calibration. The required automation level should also be visible: some projects need basic manual proportional addition while others require a feed-forward signal and more defined interlocks. These are not cosmetic options; they affect whether the prepared solution is consistent at the point of use.
Integrate the system with the process signal that matters
In a DAF line, dose control may relate to influent flow and chemical conditioning. In sludge dewatering, the dose may need to follow sludge feed and observed floc quality. Discuss what should occur when dilution water fails, when prepared solution runs low or when the downstream process stops. A concise I/O list and cause-and-effect description improves both the equipment scope and later commissioning. It also avoids implying that a fixed dosing rate will serve changing wastewater conditions indefinitely.
Use the RFQ to turn questions into a project basis
When the key inputs are available, a structured RFQ can bring them together with project country, target result, operating hours and the equipment interest. That helps move the next conversation from general browsing to a defined technical scope. If a data point is not yet available, identify it as an open clarification rather than assuming a generic value.
